Congratulation Okapi Wanderers RFC last year player Tomas Gallo for being selected to play for London Scottish FC Academy.

MGM Athlete and Former Okapi Wanderers RFC Varsity player Tomas Gallo spent this past Saturday participating in an Academy 1st team game for the historical English Rugby Club, London Scottish FC.

Tomas Gallo played during the game vs Blackheath F.C. , Tomas was last year captain of the Varsity Team with Okapi Wanderers Rugby FC.

London Scottish currently play in the RFU Championship one division below the Aviva Premiership.

They were the first of the famous Exiles clubs that were formed in London during the early period of Rugby Unions birth in the late 1800's. Later came London Irish and London Welsh all formed as a place for Ex patriots. In early 1878, three Scottish members of a team called St Andrews Rovers decided to break away to form their own club for Scots. These men, George Grant, Neil Macglashan and Robert Arnot attracted a number of responses to a circular they sent out. The London Scottish Regiment in particular were very warm to the idea. Very soon after, on 10 April 1878, London Scottish FC was founded in The Queen's Head pub, in Water Lane Blackfriars, (universally known as MacKay's Tavern, frequently miss-recorded, as Ned Mackay the jovial Scottish landlord ran the pub)

London Scottish initially played on Blackheath Common, and later at Richmond Athletic Ground in Surrey.

Congratulation Tomas and we wish you the best.
